December in New York is all about twinkling lights, festive markets, and the cozy buzz of the city. For many visitors, the two holiday highlights are Winter Village at Bryant Park and the iconic Dyker Heights Christmas lights in Brooklyn.

But getting from one to the other in one evening can be tricky. Subway transfers, traffic, freezing walks, and crowded streets can turn a magical plan into a tiring challenge. That’s where having a car makes all the difference — and Drivo makes it easy. This guide shows you a fast, warm, and simple route to enjoy both destinations without the stress.

4:00–5:30 PM — start at Bryant Park

Parking is the hardest part of Winter Village. Reserve a spot in advance via SpotHero near 40th–42nd Streets — close to the park but away from Times Square traffic.

Arrive around 4 PM to enjoy the market before the crowds peak. Walk the stalls, grab a hot drink, and take photos. Leaving around 5:30 PM keeps you ahead of the heavy southbound traffic.

5:30–6:45 PM — smooth Drive to Dyker Heights

Skip Midtown stress with this warm, scenic route:

  • Exit east from your garage, avoiding 5th–7th Avenues.
  • Take 42nd Street → 2nd Avenue → FDR Drive.

Once on FDR Drive southbound, you can relax, charge your phone, and enjoy views of the East River, while Drivo guides you efficiently to Brooklyn. This 35–45 minute stretch lets you recharge before stepping into the festive lights of Dyker Heights.

6:45–8:00 PM — explore Dyker Heights Lights

The brightest displays are usually between 11th–13th Avenues and 83rd–86th Streets. Popular must-see homes:

  • 1152 84th Street — Lucy Spata’s House
  • 1145 84th Street — Polizzotto House

Parking tip: some visitors park near Dyker Beach Golf Course (86th St & 7th Ave) and walk 8–10 minutes. Walking a short stretch lets you experience the full neighborhood magic: glowing houses, oversized toy soldiers, and coordinated light displays.

Dyker Heights offers different ways to explore: walking tours (~$35 per person) or bus/premium tours (~$55–$75+ per person). With a Drivo car, you stay warm, keep your schedule flexible, and enjoy private comfort, making it the easiest way for families or groups.

8:00–9:00 PM — Dinner in Bay Ridge

Finish your evening with a cozy dinner just minutes from Dyker Heights. Bay Ridge (3rd Avenue) has Italian-American restaurants with pasta, pizza, seafood, and desserts. Parking is easier here than in Midtown, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about traffic.

Happy Holidays!

Enjoy your festive NYC evening — and remember, you can always find a car with Drivo. Have a wonderful weekend!
